Welcome

Beginnings Montessori is a non-profit, non-sectarian Montessori school that serves as a community of educators, parents, and students. This childcare environment honors the unique potential in each child and educates the whole child by encouraging independence, promoting collaboration, engaging in critical thinking, and fostering a love of learning.

Primary students at a Montessori school are able to explore specially designed Montessori materials that are hands-on, concrete, and self-correcting, making it an excellent choice for childcare.

The kindergarten year is the final year of the primary classroom in a childcare setting. Kindergarteners serve as leaders and mentors to younger students at a Montessori school.

The elementary program at our Montessori school includes a lower elementary classroom for students ages 6 - 9 and an upper elementary classroom for those ages 9 - 12, providing a comprehensive childcare experience.

Facts About Us

Beginnings Montessori operates under the direction of the Allegany Association for Childhood Education, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 1978. Licensed by the Maryland State Board of Education and the Office of Child Care, it is recognized as a member school of the American Montessori Society. This non-profit private school offers a welcoming environment for children of diverse backgrounds and focuses on a child-centered approach directed by trained educators. Additionally, it is governed by an elected Board of Directors and serves as a licensed provider of before and aftercare childcare services.
